How to Zoom in Photoshop?

If you want to zoom some images in Photoshop then, you should use the zoom tool for proper imaging. For a better view, you know how to zoom in on Photoshop.

I will explain in this article all the step-by-step methods for zooming in Photoshop. You can use the zoom tool to zoom an image.

The crop tool is a different feature from zooming. In zooming, you only magnify an image on your screen.

Once when we know about zooming in Photoshop then, we will move towards scrolling an image in Photoshop.

In this article, you will learn how to zoom in Photoshop as well as how to pan a picture with a hand tool.

There are different ways to scroll the image inside the document window. Finally, we will learn quickly from one image to another using Photoshop.

Step by Step Methods of How to Zoom in Photoshop

First of all, select the zoom tool by clicking on the tool palette on the left side of the screen. The icon looks like a magnifying glass press the key of Z on your keyboard.

Use the Zoom tool

The View Menu Options

There is another way to zoom in the Photoshop and change the level of zoom of your picture from the view menu in the menu bar along the top of the screen.

Here you will find different options that control the size of your targeted image.

The view in the menu bar.

The View Menu Options

The Zoom In and Zoom Out Commands

The first two options, Zoom In and Zoom Out, are the most common option in the view menu bar. Choose one of either Zoom In to zoom in or Zoom Out to zoom out. It is common to form of zooming in on Photoshop.

The Zoom In and Zoom Out Commands

The Zoom In and Zoom Out options are in the view menu bar.

Zooming In And Out gradually

When you select the Zoom In option from the View menu bar, Photoshop will zoom the image at the increased size of your desire.

For example, if you’re now viewing an image at a zoom level of 20%, then selecting the Zoom In option will zoom the picture to 35.33%. Select again then, it will zoom in to 50%, then 65.67%, and then into 100%.

Surely, you can continue to zoom in the best way beyond the level of 100%. Photoshop allows us to zoom into 3300You should use eye side glasses when you want to move zoomed image.

The same case is for the Zoom Out option. All the time when you want to select the Zoom Out option, you’ll zoom further out from the image in increasing steps.

Zooming In And Out from the Keyboard

Photoshop’s Zoom In and Zoom Out commands are commonly used apps. But it is more suitable when you have lots of free time.

If you won’t want to keep going up to the View menu bar each time you need to select them. And if you look to the right corner of the Zoom In option and Zoom Out options, you’ll see that each one has its keyboard shortcut. These shortcuts are worthy because you’ll use them mostly in your Photoshop work.

To quick zoom in on your image on a PC screen, press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard and press the plus sign (+) as well.

On a MacBook, press and hold the Command key and press the plus sign (+) simultaneously. To zoom out an image on a PC screen, press and hold your Ctrl key and press the minus sign (–) as well.

When you press the shortcut, Photoshop will zoom more clearly in or out using the specific increments steps. I mentioned earlier in this article 20%, 35.33%, 50%, and so on.

Zooming In or Out From the Center of the Image

The only complication with the Zoom In and Zoom Out commands is that they offer no control option on which part of the image we’re zooming in or out. It only zooms in or out from the center of the image.

When you pressed the keyboard shortcut many times to zoom in on an image. As you can see, Photoshop zoomed in on the center of the picture, which focused on the side of the face.

If my Target was to change his eye color, for example, it wouldn’t be very helpful that which part of the image will focus or which part is not. Then we use different types of the tool of zooming in or out the image.

Zooming In or Out From the Center of the Image

If you want to zoom out the image then, you will select the option of zoom out present on the top screen of the PC or at the bottom if you are using the Photoshop elements. It also acts as a magnifying glass to zoom out the image.

zoom out

As another way of zooming out, you can also press and hold the Alt key on the keyboard when you want to use the Zoom tool on the targeted portion of that image.

Use the zoom percentage box

This method is used for slower zooming but, it allows you to get clear images.

  1. At the bottom of the Photoshop screen, there is a small box with a percentage. This percentage identifies your zoom level.
  2. If you want to edit the percentage then, click on the box by typing in a new number. The higher the number, the more zoomed in you are.

Conclusion

In this article, I explained all the authentic methods of zooming in Photoshop in detail. Hope you will understand better because all the steps have accurate information.

You can use the screen mode option on Pc window. You can also use the hand tool for zooming purposes. In this article, I explained all the queries related to zoom in Photoshop.
